Jewish High Holidays Begin with Blasts of Horn, Bites of Apple and Honey – Sep 20, 2017

For observant Jews, tonight begins a 9-day period of thoughtfulness, followed by a day of fasting.

Beginning at sunset this evening, the Jewish Holiday Rosh Hashanah ushers in the High Holidays and the Jewish New Year. Many local congregations have a full slate of activities planned between this evening and the end of Yom Kippur next weekend. Steve Mencher talked with Reb Irwin Keller of Ner Shalom in Cotati about the meaning of these holidays.
