A linchpin of the Mendocino County economy, some cannabis farmers were hit hard by the North Bay fires.
They’ve been called the “wine country” fires – but cannabis farmers suffered losses in the recent firestorm as well. Unlike vintners, whose grapes were nearly all picked, the cannabis harvest was just getting started when the fires struck. Reporter Sarah Reith visited growers who are now reckoning with their losses.
