For the Grateful Dead, their long strange trip almost ended at Woodstock.

After their disastrous performance at Woodstock, the Grateful Dead almost dropped out of the music business entirely. Fifty years later, Drummer Mickey Hart now laughs at himself for thinking that moment would ruin his career. Hart spoke at the Schultz museum on August third, along with his wife Caryl Hart and Grateful Dead historian Dennis McNally. In this short excerpt, McNally asks Hart to describe what went wrong.
