Former Director of IOLERO Works to Pass a Ballot Initiative That Would Strengthen the Office – January 29, 2020

The Independent Office of Law Enforcement Review and Outreach, or IOLERO, was created to strengthen transparency and trust in the Sonoma County Sheriff’s Office.  This was in 2015, two years after a Sheriff’s Deputy shot and killed 13-year-old Andy Lopez. But Former Director of IOLERO, Jerry Threet, believes the office needs more funding and independence to do its job well. Threet is now collecting signatures to get an initiative on the November Ballot that would strengthen IOLERO. KRCB’s Adia White spoke with him about the details.

We reached out to the Sheriff’s Office and expect to have them in our studio within the next week. Listen to the full-length interview with Threet at norcalpublicmedia.org.
