8th Annual National Heirloom Expo – September 10, 2018

The National Heirloom Expo
Sonoma County Fairgrounds
September 11th – 13th, 2018 @ 9:00 am – 9:00 pm

Immerse yourself in a kaleidoscope of colors, aromas and flavors—visit our mind-boggling produce display! Last year we featured the worlds largest squash exhibit, a spectacular, 21 foot tall pyramid of squash of all shapes, sizes and hues. We plan to make it even more fantastic for the 8th Annual National Heirloom Exposition. In the same hall, you’ll find a tantalizing rainbow of thousands of heirloom tomatoes, peppers, eggplants, squashes, garlic, tree-fruits and more—all clearly identified and labeled.
Some of the most innovative minds will be showcasing items or stories of interest, with no expectation of selling anything—they desire above all else, to inspire others. Our exhibitors will span from backyard gardeners to seasoned organic commercial growers, as well as forgotten craftsmen, not-for-profit organizations and leaders in the Green Tech industry. Come learn about amazing worthwhile community projects, and just catch up on whats been changing in the pure food movement. You’re sure to make some new friends!

There will also be 4000 native oak tree saplings to be given away to children for fire restoration in the kids area. Grown by Jonsteen and sponsored by One Tree Planted.

Over 100 nationally and internationally acclaimed on-topic speakers. Join us in three unique speaker halls, all with their own format. Choose from individual speakers, expert panels, or in-depth roundtable discussions.

Fascinating demonstrations held throughout the duration of the Expo provide amazing information and entertainment. Seed carver Sergey Jivetin astounds observers with his detailed engravings on different types of plant seeds. He invites everyone to bring in a seed that is special to you, and he will engrave it for you! The Navajo Reservation Women create beautiful clothing and accessories as they demonstrate the age-old techniques of spinning and weaving. Jon Parr uses his Aquaponics display to demonstrate his hands-on approach to practical application of sustainable permaculture and aquaponic food production.

The School Garden Network Kids’ Pavilion is packed with 3 days of fun and games including educational activities, contests and competitions. Thirty plus school gardens in Sonoma and surrounding counties showcase their work inside Finley Hall.

The Exposition will feature a wide array of natural vendors from across the country and beyond. Last year we hosted over 350 vendors, each showcasing products pertaining to natural food, gardening, sustainability, green living and so much more! Unlike any other exposition in the world, our vendors epitomize the pure food movement, both in their diversity and in the sustainability of their approach: many offer innovative ideas and leading-edge products. Everything from heirloom seed varieties to produce, live plants to organic garden products to clothing, household products, and craft items will be available!
