Welcome to the 4th JCC Sonoma County Israeli Film Festival! Every year the JFF reviews a large number of great Israeli films, but we cannot show all of them for programming reasons. Many of you told us that you wanted more.
That is why we established the Israeli Film Festival, to allow us to bring the best of Israel’s robust and prolific film industry to you. Foreign language films seldom make it to theaters in our area, so film festivals are your best chance to catch the really good ones.

The Testament

Yoel, a leading Holocaust scholar, is trying to stop an urban development project in Austria where he believes a massacre of Jews took place. Despite evidence of a systematic cover-up and after many excavations, he is still unable to find the mass grave. During his painstaking investigation, the face of his mother appears unexpectedly in a restricted file, uncovering a secret that undermines Yoel’s entire identity. As a historian, he is deeply opposed to any relativism around the idea of objective truth. Will Yoel bring justice to the victims? Will he and his family pay the price of revealing the truth?
