Heartwood Crossing – March 15, 2019

Heartwood Crossing
Occidental Center for the Arts
Saturday, March 23rd, 2019 @ 7:00 pm – 9:00 pm

A home-grown band from Sonoma County, known for smart songwriting and moving vocals, hot fiddle with dueling guitars, and a rockin’ backbeat that just will not quit.

Heartwood Crossing stands out due to their original songwriting and melodic three-part harmonies. Stony Point Road evokes Little Feat, American Made has touches of Springsteen and prime period Mellencamp, says Deborah Grabien of No Depression magazine, and Coeur DAlene, a classic piece of Americana left a lump in my throat.

Perhaps, the secret is that two singer-songwriters have a musical brotherhood that goes back many years. Dave Monterey and Tim Sheehan have performed on and off together for decades in bands such as Patriots of the Heartland (1976), The Breakers (1983, 1991), and The String Rays (2010). Singer-songwriter Emily Lois entered the mix in 2018. From a chance meeting in ‘the green room’ of a local radio station, the three struck a chord of co-inspiration, bringing Heartland Crossing to life. Adding Daniel Magee on bass and Dan Ransford on percussion, Heartwood Crossing is sure to bring a good time to its Occidental audience!
