OCA welcomes back renowned musical satirist Roy Zimmerman, who is on the road again with his trusty guitar, his wide-open smile, and his tenth album release to bring laughter and encouragement to progressive-minded people everywhere. ‘RiZe Up’’ is a forceful and funny expression of resistance in the Age of Trump. “Satire empowers people”, says Roy. “To laugh is to fight back. To hope is to fight back”. The Los Angeles Times says: “Zimmerman displays a lacerating wit and keen awareness of society’s foibles that bring to mind a latter-day Tom Lehrer”. “Roy’s lyrics move beyond poetry and achieve perfection”—Joni Mitchell. His signature blend of heart and hilarity has never been more necessary!

With a career spanning 30 years, Roy’s songs have been heard on HBO and Showtime, and his videos have garnered tens of millions of views. He has recorded for Warner/Reprise Records and shared stages with Bill Maher, Ellen DeGeneres, Holly Near, Robin Williams, Arlo Guthrie, John Oliver, The Roches, Andy Borowitz, Chambers Brothers, Kate Clinton and George Carlin. Roy tours the country with his very accomplished wife and co-writer Melanie Harby when they are not at home in Northern California.

Don’t miss this brilliant and funny musical political commentator and enjoy the irreverence- it’s contagious!
