COTS Opens Mary’s Table – June 25, 2019

Mary’s Table
Committee on the Shelterless [COTS]
Open to the Public

COTS provides an average of 7,000 healthy meals per month from our kitchen at the Mary Isaak Center to anyone experiencing hunger or poverty, and the need is growing. We serve three hot meals each day to our shelter residents and lunch is currently open to any person struggling to make ends meet. In July 2019, we will open Mary’s Table to the public for dinner, too – expanding our services and reaching even more of those facing hunger in our community.

At COTS, we believe that good nutrition is a human right. By serving our clients and neighbors the best possible meals, we allow them to focus on building resilience, nourishing their families, and achieving their goals for long-term stability and housing. Generous funding from a grant partner has increased and improved the quality of our food services by allowing us to procure and use more fresh vegetables and fruits, including organic options whenever possible. Our kitchen is overseen by Chef Derrick Ng, a former COTS Kitchen Volunteer with ten years of restaurant experience, who brings a level of professionalism and innovation to Mary’s Table that has uplifted our clients and community alike.

If you need long-term support with food, we encourage you to contact the Redwood Empire Food Bank, Sonoma County 211, or your healthcare provider.
