Buddy: The Buddy Holly Story at the 6th Street Playhouse (Aired: January 7, 2019)

Buddy: The Buddy Holly Story
6th Street Playhouse
January 10 – February 9, 2020

Buddy Holly’s amazing story and highlights of his career—in just two hours!

Buddy—The Buddy Holly Story tells the true story of Buddy’s meteoric rise to fame, from the moment in 1957 when “That’ll be the Day” hit the airwaves, until his tragic death less than two years later on the “Day the Music Died.”

Starring Kyle Jurassic, as Buddy Holly, the show features over 20 of Buddy Holly’s greatest hits, including “That’ll be the Day,” “Peggy Sue,” and “Oh, Boy.”

Back in the early 1950s, Buddy got together with a drummer, a bass player and a rhythm guitarist (played in our production by Nick Ambrosino, Engin Yesilyemis, and Steve Lasiter) and formed The Crickets. Lubbock, Texas had never seen anything like it. His twangy delivery and hard rock rhythms took the world by storm.
