12th Annual Old Grove Festival
Armstrong Redwoods SNR

Billed as Progressive New Grass in the Redwoods, the Annual Old Grove Festival takes place at the historic Redwood Forest Theater in Armstrong Redwoods SNR in September. This beautiful open-air theatre was built in the 1930s. Concerts and theatrical events took place there for decades until the theater was closed in the 1980s out of concern for natural resource protection. In 2006, the theater was reopened for limited use. Event reservations are limited to alleviate environmental impacts and due to parking limitations.
The Old Grove Festival features an outstanding variety of musical and theatrical productions that help Stewards raise funds to support our educational and stewardship programs, as well as continued advocacy for ALL State Parks.

Dead Winter Carpenters
Reminiscent of genre-benders like Jack White, Chris Thile, and Sam Bush, Americana band Dead Winter Carpenters harmoniously blends refined musical ability with a scarcely restrained tendency to let it all hang out. The result is a controlled burn, a riveting sound, and a connection with fans that sells out shows and has the band sharing stages with the likes of Jason Isbell, Greensky Bluegrass, and Hard Working Americans.
One Grass Two Grass
One Grass Two Grass delivers high energy, hard driving, fun loving, old-timey, new-timey, good-timey, California string band music. Through richly lyrical, naturally inspired originals cushioned by a bed of old mountain tunes and the occasional stomping classic rock number, their unique sound is expressed as a mesh of yesterdays established protocols with the need to bring strings to the times in their own exciting way.
