Honoring ordinary people who have made an extraordinary impact throughout Northwest California.
Each year at the Heroes recognition event, the American Red Cross of the California Northwest salutes local community members, who exemplify the values of the Red Cross by saving a life, performing an extraordinary act of compassion, or demonstrating an exceptional spirit of giving.
Heroes come in many shapes and sizes. In the past, we have honored individuals, teams, companies, adults, children and even animals! We actively seek nominees who align with one or more of the following categories:
Animal Hero
Blood Services Hero
Disaster Services Hero
Education Hero
Environment Hero
First Responder Hero
Healthcare Hero
Humanitarian Hero – Adult
Humanitarian Hero – Youth
International Services Hero
Service to the Armed Forces Hero
If you know someone whom you think is a hero but you are not sure what category they belong to or think they may belong to multiple categories, please do not hesitate to nominate them for the one category that your hero qualifies for the most. When hero nominations are reviewed, they will be placed in the best or multiple categories if qualified. Please note that a hero may not be selected for every category.
