OCA presents Friday Night Live! The Christian Foley-Beining Group. Foley-Beining, a native of Germany who now lives and works in Healdsburg, was on the faculty of Musicians Institute in Hollywood for eight years and has taught music clinics around the world as well as having played with many well-known musicians. A popular figure in the local jazz scene and also a composer, Christian started the group out of his love for the music of Pat Metheny and the Beatles. In collaboration with bass player Todd Smith they have integrated Metheny’s complex arrangements into their repertoire; as well as Christian’s own jazzy arrangements of Beatles tunes. They were joined by versatile drummer/percussionist Tom Hayashi and the trio has recorded a CD and plays frequently at many fine venues around Sonoma County. https://www.thechristianfoley-beininggroup.com.
