Society seeks to punish men and women who commit crimes by throwing them in prison. Later this month, KRCB is showing a film about advances in understanding the toll of incarceration on prisoners’ families.
On April 15th, KRCB TV 22 will present Invisible Bars, about the families of prisoners. Filmmaker John Beck came to our studios with Fred Stillman, who served more than two decades in California prisons for murder. And his daughter Jessica – one of his seven children – who works in Santa Rosa. KRCB news director Steve Mencher asked Jessica why she was willing to show intimate family moments with her dad, as he learned why he’d been violent, and how to show love to his family.
