Banks Step in to Ease PG&E’s Way to Bankruptcy – January 23, 2019

You’ve probably heard that California’s largest utility, PG&E, is planning to file for bankruptcy.

Four banks agreed yesterday to provide about $5.5 billion dollars to PG&E, to ease the utility’s way through an expected Chapter 11 bankruptcy. KRCB News Director Steve Mencher spoke with Marisa Lagos of the California Politics & Government Desk at KQED about the latest news. He asked whether bankruptcy is definitely on the horizon and about the newly announced financing.

Marisa Lagos is co-host of KQED’s Political Breakdown. We’ll have more on the PG&E story tomorrow. And visit us on the web, anytime, at norcalpublicmedia.org.
